Source: The Crawfordsville Weekly Review, Friday, July 17, 1908

Eli Coombs, at one time a resident of this city, died at his home at Indianapolis Sunday afternoon after an illness of rheumatism and flux with which he had suffered for many years.  The body will be brought to this city Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock at the home of Fred Coombs, corner of Grant Avenue and Market street.
Mr. Coombs leaves surviving him, two sons, Fred Coombs, of this city, and Virgil Coombs of Oregon and one daughter, Mrs. John Sulder of Charleston, W. Va.
The deceased left this city more than sixteen years ago and will be remembered by the older residents.
