Paul J. Cook, 72-year-old
retired Mid-States Steel & Wire Co. employe, died Friday night in Culver
Hospital. He had been seriously ill three weeks. Mr. Cook, who resided at 113
W. Market St., was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars and the Eagles Lodge. He was employed by Mid-States for 20 years. Born
April 2, 1894, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Thomas and Madeline
Alexander Cook. In 1920, he was married to Leona Ellington. She died about 25
years ago. Surviving are two sons, Paul Keith Cook of Santa Clara, Calif., and
Donald Dwayne Cook of Sun Valley , Calif., a sister, Mrs. Arthur Marr of
Cambridge, Ohio, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Beverly Cook of Crawfordsville. In
addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Rex Cook and
Jack Cook. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt &
Son Funeral Home. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their
respects at the funeral home. – jlr
