Waveland June 29 – Mrs. Charles
Connor was painfully injured in a gasoline explosion at her home here
Wednesday. She was cleaning some clothing with the gasoline and for some reason
she struck a match. The oil on the rag which she had been using caught fire and
communicated to a pain in which was some of the gasoline. An explosion followed
and the burning oil flew into Mrs. Conner’s face, badly burning the flesh and
singing the eyebrows. It is thought that her eyes are not injured. Her hands
and arms were slightly burned also. The room in which she was working took fire
but it was extinguished before any great damage was done. - kbz
