M. A. Conner was born Nov. 29th, 1841, died Sept. 3d, 1896, aged 54 years, 9 months, and 4 days. He was a member of New Ross Lodge No. 397, I. O. O. F. The funeral and interment occurred at Union on Sunday. A wife, four sons and three daughters survive him. -s

Alex Conner passed from this earth Friday, Sept. 4th. He had been quite sick and had suffered great pain, but bore his suffering with patience. He united with the Presbyterian Church at quite an early age and lived a faithful member until his death. His funeral was preached at Union Hill Sunday by Rev. Williamson. -s

Alex Conner, of Walnut Township, died last Friday at his home near New Ross, after an illness of about seven months. He was 55 years old and leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral services were held Sunday at 11 o’clock at Union Church, of which church he was a leading and zealous member. Mr. Conner was a member of the jury that tried W. Fred Pettit for wife murder and was the first member of that body to die. -s
