Waynetown, Nov. 9. - Mrs. Minerva Coons, 88, an invalid for the past sixteen years, died at her home in Waynetown Friday morning at 1:30 o’clock. Death was due to a complication of disease. Mrs. Coons had been ill since the death of her husband A.L. Coons sixteen years ago. She had been bedfast for the past thirteen years but her condition did not become critical until last Sunday. The deceased, who was one of the oldest, if not the oldest woman in Wayne township, was widely known. She was greatly admired because of her cheerfulness and fortitude throughout her many years of sickness. She was born in Ripley township on Apr 24, 1846, the daughter of Peter and Eliza Shipon Musser. She was married to A. L. Coons on July 30, 1898. She was a member of the Christian church. Mrs. Coons had spent her entire life in Montgomery county and had resided Waynetown for the past forty years. The survivors include two half sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hughes of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Maude Brown, of New Ross, and a half brother, Eston Musser of Newton, Kans. The funeral services will be held at the home in Waynetown Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. Cecil Frank will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
