Harry T. Coons, 66 years old, for many years a resident of Crawfordsville, passed away early Tuesday morning in Chicago according to a message received here. Mr. Coons died at one o’clock, his death following an operation for carce[i]noma of the colon which was preformed July 31.
Mr. Coons was born in Crawfordsville the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey P. Coons. He grew to manhood in this community and for thirty three years was head of the trimming department of the Crawfordsville Casket company.
During the latter years of his life he was a casket hardware salesman for the Sargent Hardware company of Hartford, Conn.
Those surviving are the widow, a son, Harry, Jr., two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Royer, of Bellfontaine, O., and Mrs. Walter Cruse of this city, and a brother, W.S. Coons, of Louisville, Ky.
The funeral services and burial will take place in Chicago Thursday. -- thanks to Phil Coons for this one :)
