Russellville-- Frank E. COONS 69, life-long farmer died at his home in Russellville at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday night, following an extended illness. A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Coons had spent much of his life time in this county, although for 10 years he resided in Oklahoma and for the past few years in Russellville. Born near Browns Valley, May 5, 1880, Mr. Coons was the son of Theodore and Nora Shockley Coons. Married 21 years ago to Dora Dutcher of Russellville Mr. Coons is survived by the widow, two step children, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson and Samuel Dutcher, both of Indianapolis. Also surviving are four brothers, and one sister, Harry A. Coons of New Market; Roy C. Coons, Pekin, Ill; Elmer Coon of near Crawfordsville; Carl Coons of Russellville and Mrs. Fern Straub of Crawfordsville. An active member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Mr. Coon shad served as deacon of the church for a number of years. Friends may call at the residence in Russellville where the body will remain until 11 o'clock Saturday morning. Taken to Freedom Church for the funeral service, the body will lie in state one hour before the service. Rev. CW Mears of Spencer, pastor of the church, will have charge of the funeral services at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon; burial in Indian Creek Cemetery.
