Mrs. Zola Cooksey, 43, a member of the Crawfordsville community for 24 years, died Saturday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock at Culver hospital of a heart ailment after an illness of several months. Born March 28, 1903 in Lyons, Indiana, the daughter of Sanford and Lucy Hanser, she was married to Roy M. Cooksey at Spencer, Ind, Jan 20, 1923. Mrs. Cooksey was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Miss Lucy Cooksey, a son, Roy J. Cooksey, Sr, two sisters, Mrs. Lovella Starnes, Morocco and Mrs. Lula Barton, Linden; her mother, Mrs. Lucy Hanser of Spencer and grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Massey, Spencer. The body was taken to the Proffitt & Sons parlors where funeral services at the Methodist Church in Covington at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Morris Morgan will officiate and burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery, Covington. - typed by kbz
