Roy M. Cooksey, 78 of 1210 Meridian Street died at 4:58 ?m. Wednesday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer and had been employed by the North Montgomery School maintenance deaprtment. Mr. Cooksey was a past elder of the Church of Christ. Born Dec 30, 1898 in Owen County, he was a son of Elza and Rosa Keller Cooksey. He was married to Zola Hauser in 1923. She died in 1946. He then married Virgie Mathews in 1950. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Roy Jr. of Rt 6, Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Martin and Mrs. Wilma Collier of Crawfordsville; six brothers, Arthur of Waveland; Earl of Plainfield; Cecil of Williamsport; Frank of Spencer and Herman and Alvin of Winnebago, Ill; four sisters, Ina Sheese of Gosport, Elma Vandevenier of Stinesville; Irene Jackson of Alexandria and Gladys Kay of Spencer; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A brother and sister are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Powers Funeral Home with Gene Warman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. - kbz
