Robert Rex Cook, 36 of a mile west of the city on Waynetown Road, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been seriouly ill six weeks. A native of Montgomery County he was a son of Paul J. and Leona Ellington Cook and was born June 28, 1929. He was married Sept 2, 1949 to Beverly Stockdale, who survives. Mr. Cook was district sign foreman for the Indiana Highway Department. Previously he had been employed at Day's Paint & Wallpaper Store and at the post office. He was a member of the Eagles. He served in the US Army in 1947-49. Surviving besides the wife are a daughter, Rosalyn Joan; the father, in Crawfordsville; and two brothers, Paul Keith Cook of Santa Clara, Calif and Donald Dwayne Cook of Sun Valley, Calif. Preceding him in death besides the mother was a brother, Jack Carl Cook. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Tremaine officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday. - knx
