Darlington - Mrs. Minnie T. Conrad, 84, was found dead in bed early Sunday morning at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Roy Threlkeld in Darlington. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Conrad made her home with a son, Gregg D. Conrad in St. Bernice and was visiting relatives here when death occurred. She was born Nov 27, 1867 near Garfield, the daughter of Harrison and Nancy Paxton Flaningan, early pioneer couple of Montgomery County. She was married to LW Conrad Sept 2, 1888 near Darlington. He preceded her in death Oct 31, 1950. For a number of years, Mrs. Conrad was an active member of Campbell's Chapel Methodist Church. She was also a member of DAR and Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cora Sowders of Bloomington; two sons, Gregg D. Conrad of St. Bernice and Norman Conrad of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Liter of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Mabel Brenton of Detroit, Mi; and two brothers, Harry Flanigan of Crawfordsville and Newton Flaningan of Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist Church in Darlington Rev. Don E. Conrad, grandson of Knoxville, Tenn will be in charge. -- kbz
