Mrs. George W. Conrad, aged 40, died at her home two miles northwest of Darlington at half past two this afternoon. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She is survived by her husband and 7 children. Funeral arrangements have not been made. kbz

Darlington -- Funeral services for Mrs. George W. Conrad will be conducted from Campbell's Chapel Thursday morning at 1 0 o'clock by the Rev. Mr. Rippetoe of the Methodist Church. The interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery here. kbz

Darlington, Jan 9 -- Mattie Gillilan Conrad was born near Darlington Dec 1, 1871, and died at her home two miles northwest of Darlington Jan 6, 1912, aged 41 years 1 month 5 days. She was married to George W. Conrad Nov 1, 1889. To this union were born 7 children, 3 sons, Harley, Albert and Lewis and four daughters, Freda, Deuzel, Dorothy and Evangeline. Mrs. Conrad was left motherless at the age of 7. Her father, with Matthias chrissman met a tragic death at the railroad crossing on Main Street in Darlington Jan 29, 1903. Mrs. Conrad was devoted to her family, its duty and cares, a kind and loving wife and mother, a home woman, a kind neighbor and a friend to all. While she never united with a church she had great faith in a home beyond the grave. Besides her family she leaves 3 sisters, Mrs. Lewis Counts of Colorado a sister in Fowler, Ind and Mrs. Bob Murnett. Her funeral was held Thursday in Campbell Chapel ME Church conducted by Rev. Ripetoe, pastor of the church. Burial in IOOF Cemetery. kbz
