Word has been received from Mrs. WR Lucas of Frankfort of the death of her brother, Thomas Conner. Thomas D. Conner, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conner was born in Waveland on Feb 13, 1906. On May 14, 1928 he married Jessie Crouse and they established their home in Yakoma, Washington. Mr. Conner was a cabinet maker. During WWII he enlisted in the US Seabees and was stationed in the Samoa Islands. While in the island he contracted a severe case of bronchitis which was prevalent among the natives. When he returned to the States, he made his home in Mesa, AZ and operated his cabinet maker shop as long as his health allowed. He passed away at the Veterans Hospital, Phoenix on Nov 20. Survivors are his wife, one son, Tom Jr who is stationed in Japan in the AF. Three sisters, Mrs. Perry Hill, Thorntown; Mrs. Walter Lucas of Frankfort and Mrs. John Denoon of Carmel. Two brothers, JB Connor of Lafayette and James F. Connor of Thorntown, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov 22 in Garden Chapel Gibbons Mortuary in Mesa with burial in East Rest Haven Memorial Park. - kbz
