Thorntown - Sarah Ann Coffman, 73, of Thorntown, a retired employee of Thorntown Textile Co., died at 6 a.m. today in her home after suffering a heart seizure. She had been ill a short time. Mrs. Coffman was a member of the Christian Church at Colfax. She had lived in Thorntown 10 years and resided in this community and Colfax all her life. She was employed at the textile company 24 years. Born Nov. 13, 1902, at Colfax, she was a daughter of John and Ollie May James Wolfe. She married Rufus Coffman on July 1, 1920, at Frankfort. He died March 18, 1962. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Betty Scering of Orange, Calif., Rufus of California and Morris and Howard of Thorntown; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Ostler of Colfax; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Two children and three brothers are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home here with the Rev. Alan Moody officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
