Lucy N. COFFING, 82, of 210 E. Franklin St, died at her home at 1:12 p.m. Thursday after a long illness. She had been in declining health the last several years and seriously ill since March. She was born in Wingate March 4, 1882 to Henry and Mariah Twiddy Shultz, and married Theodore C. COFFING Feb 4, 1904 at Stone Bluff. The Coffings celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary here in February. Mrs. Coffing was educated in the Mellott schools and was a member of the North Christian Church there. She and her husband had lived here since 1923. He survives with 3 sons: Carroll; Richard and Francis, all of this city; five daughters, Mrs. Beulah Houston and Mrs. Geraldine Douglas of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Eva Davis of Largo, Fl; Mrs. Lucille Stull of New Market; and Mrs. Anna Jean Hinshaw of Centerville and 23 grandchildren, 24 greats. An infant son and a brother are deceased. Funeral services are announced for 1:30 p.m. Monday at Powers Funeral Home here with Rev. Grant Barton of Bedford officiating and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday. - kbz
