Fred A. Coffing, 89, a farmer and carpenter, died Saturday, September 8, 1973, in Woodland Manor Nursing Home. He had been in ill health six months. Mr. Coffing was a member of Osborne Prairie Church. He was born near Osborne Prairie in Fountain County on March 19, 1884, the last of 14 children born to Abner and Elizabeth Zeigler Coffing. The life resident of Fountain County had resided here since 1946. He was first married to Nannie Houts who preceded him in death in 1931. He was married to Hazel Cole at Rockville on February 2, 1934. She survives. Surviving besides the widow are a son, Fred L. of Attica; a daughter, Mrs. Freda Zukowski of Alvin, Ill.; four grandchildren. Services at the Dale Maus Funeral Home Tuesday with the Rev. Vernon Lallement officiating. Burial in Osborne Prairie Cemetery.--waw
