New Market – Raymond Clifton, 75, a native of the New Market area, died Thursday morning at Webster, Mo. He was a retired Woolworth Stores manager. Surviving are his wife, the former Inez Gavit; two sons, Robert of Chicago and James of Webster; five grandchildren; a brother, Beatty of Griffith, Ind and two sisters, Mrs. Richard Davison and Mrs. Beatrice Croy of Crawfordsville. Six brothers and sisters are deceased (sic). Mr. Clifton, born Aug 17, 1894 in Montgomery County was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge and American Legion. He was a World War I veteran. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home here with Rev. William Schalk officiating and interment in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
