John Clift died Sunday night at his home in Veedersburg at the age of 81. Mr. Clift had been a resident of Veedersburg for many years and was formerly employed at the brick yards. He was born Jan 8, 1869 in Paducah KY and moved to Veedersburg when he was a young man. He was married to Mary A. Dye who preceded him in death in 1921. Surviving are two son, Charles and McKinley Clift, Veedersburg; six sisters, Mrs. Emory Cowan, Mrs. James Darwacter, Mrs. Franklin Hoover, and Miss Florence Clift, all of Veedersburg, Mrs. Arthur Percifield, Tilton and Mrs. Mary Harold, Kingman and a half-sister, Mrs. Anna Pruitt, Georgetown.
