Ira Everett Clements, 67 of Hillsboro died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville Friday morning May 16 where he entered as a medical patient on Monday evening.  Mr. Clements had been seriously ill since last June and during that time had been a patient in several hospitals.  Mr. Clements was born Sept 26, 1884 near Hillsboro son of Robert Thomas and Elizabeth McAlister Clements. On Dec 21, 1905 he was married to Frances Laird and all of their married life has been spent in Hillsboro. He was a plasterer by trade.  He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and Hillsboro Knights of Pythias lodge.  Survivors included the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Paulson of Chicago; and two sons, Robert of Hillsboro and Richard of Chicago; four grandchildren and two brothers, Lee Clements of Kingman and Vernon Clements of Crawfordsville.  A daughter Evelyn Osborn preceded her father in death in 1932 and a granddaughter Shirley Osborn also preceded him in death. Funeral service was held from the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 3:30 Sunday afternoon with Rev. JT Moore, pastor of the Hillsboro Christian Church in charge.  The mens quartet of Veedersburg composed of Ernest Ludlow, Leo Irvin, Charles and Daniel Layman, accompanied by Mrs. Pauline Howard sang, Beyond the Sunset and He’ll Understand.  The ball bearers were members of the K of P Lodge and were: Carter Hutchins, Rolland Keeling, Tom Coleman, Cleve Walker, Clyde Jeffries, Ernest Shade who also served as flower bearers.  Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. – kbz
