Linden – Harold Raymond “Buck” Clements, 71, of Elmdale, formerly of Linden died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 2004 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. He had been ill for two years. Born Jan 15, 1932 in Monitor, he attended Linden schools. He married Gloria Paugh and she preceded him in death. In 1971, he married Velma Emerson in Marshall, Ill and she survives. She retired from Steel Industries in Crawfordsville. Mr. Clements was a truck driver and equipment operator for the Indiana State Highway Department for 25 years, retiring in 1994. He also farmed. From 1950-58, he served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Moose. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Gary Clements (Wife: Mary Ann) and Jack Clements (wife: Helen) both of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Diana Clifford of New Hampshire; five stepsons, Tom Emerson and James Emerson both of Crawfordsville; Joe Emerson of Elmdale; Mike Emerson of New Richmond and Roger Emerson of Linden; two sisters, Loren Stewart of Crawfordsville and Joan Payne of Terre Haute and a brother, Sonny Clements of Wingate. - kbz
