Claycomb - Gilbert

Wingate, Ind.—Gilbert Claycomb, 63, died at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 11, 1974) in Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been a patient one day, and had been undergoing treatment for diabetes for sometime.
Born June 12, 1910 in Webster, Ky., he was the son of Allen and Mary Ellen Sutton Claycomb. He was married June 17, 1951, in Kentucky to Mary Francis Biddle, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Gary, Marvin and David, and three daughters, Sue Ellen, Linda and Margaret, all at home; five stepchildren, Lawrence Mattingly of Hustis, Fla., Scott Mattingly of Wingate, Mrs. Ann Holcombe of Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Mary Webb of Paisley, Fla., Mrs. Toni Scott of Hustis, Fla.; three brothers, Estel of Waynetown, Wilbert and Purvil, both of Kentucky; a grandchild and 15 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Claycomb had been employed at Harrison Steel Castings Co in Attica and the Nickel Plate Railroad.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. The Rev. Clyde Hunter officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Wingate. - s
