Mellott - Mrs. Opal Clapp, a resident of Mellott since 1936 died Tuesday morning in a Chicago hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. She was taken ill Sunday on a train while en route home from a vacation in California. Born March 5, 1911 in Kansas, Mrs. Clapp was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Beeth (Beech? - crease in paper). She married Lloyd Clapp of Paxton, Ill in 1933. She was a member of the New Antioch Christian Church in Mellott. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Furr; a sister, Mrs. Leroy Joint; four brothers, Dale of Cincinnati, Ohio; Edwin also of Ohio; Irvin of Paxton, Ill and Bud in Alaska (no last names for the brothers). Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the New Antioch Christian Church. Burial will be at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Crumley Funeral Home in CHicago - kbz
