Darlington – Francis J. “Mutt” Clouser, 65, of Darlington, died Thursday in Witham Hospital at Lebanon after a short illness. Mr. Clouser was a farmer and a retired employee of Alcoa Aluminum at Lafayette where he had been employed 25 years. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Bowers High School. Born Jan 25, 1915, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Daniel J. and Catherine Clouser. He was married to Julie Villars on May 1, 1943, at Indianapolis. She survives Also surviving are four sons, David F. of Carmel, Richard S. and Michael W. of Darlington, and Dennis M. of Clarks Hill; a sister, Mary Johnson of Thorntown; a brother, Gerald of Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren. Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bernard Catholic Church at Crawfordsville with the Rev. David Clifford officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington. Friends may call at the Burkhart Funeral Home, Darlington Chapel, after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. smc

Darlington - Retired Alcoa employee Francis J. "Mutt" Clouser, 65 died Thursday in Witham Hospital at Lebanon. Born in Montgomery County, he was a graduate of Bowers School. He was employed at Alcoa 25 years before retiring and also was a retired farmer. He resided at Darlington. Mr. Clouser was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church at Crawfordsville. In 1943 he married Julie Villars who survives. Also surviving are four sons, David F. Clouser of Carmel, Richard S. and Michael W. of Darlington and Dennis of Clarks Hill; a daughter, Mary J. Clouser of Muncie; one sister, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Thorntown; and a brother, Gerald Clouser of Indianapolis - kbz
