Adelbert Thomas CLIFTON, 70, a farmer in Montgomery County most of his life, died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday at his home in New Market. He had been in failing health since last October. Born Sept 18, 1865, at New Market, Mr. Clifton was the son of John and Minnie Landis Clifton. He married Ethel Pearl Douglas Nov 24, 1907. He was a member of the Youngs Chapel Christian Church. Surviving are the widow; a son, Orville Clifton of Browns Valley; 3 brother, Russell in Crawfordsville; Beatty of Hammond and Raymond of Mt. Home, Ark; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Davidson of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Beatrice Croy of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. Funeral services held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Noble Reeves Funeral Home, New Market, burial at Indian Creek Hill Rev Grover DeNeal officiating minister. -- kbz
