Lafayette, Nov 24 - Mrs. Susan M. Clarkson died suddenly at her home, 11 S. 4th Street at 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning the cause of her death being heart failure. When she awoke she complained of feeling ill and Dr. JW Shafer was summoned, but before he could arrive Mrs. Clarkson was dead. She was born near HIllsboro, Fountain County March 10, 1848 and was married to Peter Clarkson 54 years ago. Five children born to this union 4 of whom survive: Mrs. Melissa Luce of Kokomo; Miss Udella Clarkson of Lafayette; Wm. G. Clarkson of near Wingate and Walter S. Clarkson of near Crawfordsville. Surviving are also four grandchildren: Emery Luce of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Wesley Davis of Rossville, Ill; and Russell and Carl Luce of Kokomo and 5 great grandchildren May Elizabeth, Emery Milton and Max Wesley Davis of Rossville, Ill and Don Edward and Richard Harold Luce of Crawfordsville. Mrs. Clarkson was a member of the Methodist Church at New Richmond from where the funeral will be conducted at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Short services will be held at the home at 11:30. Interment will be made in the New Richmond cemetery - kbz
