Waynetown - Elsie Cedars, 77. of Waynetown died Wednesday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. A Waynetown resident most of her life, Mrs. Cedars retired from her job at RR DOnnelley & Sons Co in 1964. She was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church, the Friendly Circle Sunday School Class and the Ladies Aid. She attended Waynetown HS.
She was born March 15, 1902 in Coffeeville, Kan, a daughter of William Henry and Elizabeth Wonderly Atkinson. She was married to Vern Cedars Feb 26, 1919. He preceded her in death in April 1941.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herschell (Betty) Miles and Mrs. Willard (Nellie) Allen, both of Waynetown, a sister, Mrs. Nancy Taylor of Hugo, Okla; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry Cedars; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Rager; a brother and a sister.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with the Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic cemetery. - kbz
