Mrs. Harry W. Chenault, who has been ill at the home of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Kent K. Straughan, died on Monday monring. Funeral services at the home on Wednesday afternoon were in charge of Rev. AJ Ayling of HObart, assisted by Rev. J.E. Stone. Interment at Maple Ridge. Mary Josephine Straughan was born at Browns Valley oct 11, 1881, lived there 8 years then moved to Waveland in 1889, attending Waveland schools and graduated from the high school of this place in 1899. Music being her profession choice, she devoted the next few years to the development of a technical knowledge of the art, attending The Metropolitan School of Music at Indianapolis for this purpose. The thousands who have heard her play can testify to her thoroughness along this line. she still lives in the delicateness of touch and phrasing, which she instilled into the hundreds of pupils under her care. She joined the baptist Church when but 15 and has been a consistent working member since that time. Dec 12, 1905, she was married to Harry W. Chenault, who with her mother, father, brother and sister survive her. Mayme Chenault, as she was familiarly called by her friends, never had an enemy, this was the result of a remarkably kind and loving disposition; an unselfish disposition to give rather than take. The last six years of her life she lived in Fowler, Ind. There being no Baptist Church there, she transferred her work, not her membership tot he Methodist church of that place, being pianist and choir director for 3 years. her many firends in that place is but another evidence that unselfish devotion pays.
