Nancy Mahala CHAMNESS, 84, died at 12:20 Saturday morning Jan 28, 1956, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Clouser in Browns Valley. She had been ill for two weeks and her death was due to a complication of diseases. The daughter of Thomas and Alabama Gray Johnson, Mrs. Chamness was born Nov 11, 1871. She was a native of Jasper County. She was thrice married, in 1887 to Milton WHEELER in 1907 to Edward DICKISON and in 1922 to Robert Chamness. All preceded her in death. She was a member of the New Richmond Christian Church. Surviving are two sons, Edward Harold Dickison Key West, Fl; and Omer P. Wheeler; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Elzie of Pamona, California and Mrs. Caroline Clouser of Browns Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Dykes .a.nd Mrs. May barber of Englewood, Col; one brother, EM Johnson of Jourdeton, Tx; 10 grandchidlren and six greats. Two sons and two daughters also preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Machledt & Servies Mortuary in Waveland in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial in New Richmond Cemetery. - kbz
