Chambers - William Bert

Wilbert “Bert” Chambers, 84, of Mace, died Saturday night in Culver Hospital after an illness of several months. He was a carpenter and painting contractor in early years had operated a garage. Mr. Chambers was born in Montgomery County on August 7, 1885, a son of William and Amanda Loop Chambers. He was married August 11, 1906 to Fern Linn, who survives. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Doris Stuebe of Indianapolis; two sons, Max L. of Lebanon and Wilbert of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Frick officiating. Interment will be in Mace K of P Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.-- kbz
