Timothy Casey, 70 years old, residing on the Linden Road north of this city, was found by his son, Jere in the yard of his home last evening about 6 o’clock in a dying condition. He had had a stroke of paralysis. The aged man was carried into his house and lived for about 25 minutes. He was unconscious when found and passed away without rallying. Among his intimate acquaintances the deceased was known as “Tade” Casey. He was one of the substantial men of this community. For many years he was in the brick manufacturing business. First west of the city, where his plant burned and later near his present home on the Lafayette Pike. He married Ellen Riley who died 15 years ago. The surviving children are Daniel Vincent of Chicago; Mrs. Robert Kuhn of Argos, Indiana, Neil (Nell?) of Colfax and Jerre of this city. Timothy Casey was a quiet man of many kindly impulses. He was never too busy but that he would stop his task to attend the funeral of a friend. Of a warm sympathetic nature, he was both parents to his motherless children and his kindness radiated far beyond those under his immediate care. Tade Casey will be much missed and his going away will be mourned by those who were honored with his intimate friendship.
