Wingate - Daniel Ray Carrell, 14 of Wingate died Saturday morning in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis after an illness of several months. The youth had been hospital since Sept 1 (smudged)
Daniel, who would have been a freshman at Coal Creek Central HS had been active in junior high athletics. He was manager for the varsity football team this year., He played the coronet in the school band and had completed five years of 4-H clubwork. He was a member of Wingate United Methodist Church and MYF.
A native of Crawfordsville, he was born June 13, 1956, a son of Donald and Beverly Ellingwood Carrell. Surviving along with his parents are three brother: Michael, Dennis and Kenneth all at home; a sister, Patricia at home; the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ida Carrell of Browns Valley; the maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Mannie Ellingwood and the maternal great grandmother, Mrs. Edna Ellingwood of Alamo.
Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Montgomery County Cancer Society, Post Office Box 484, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday.
