Darlington, Oct 15 – William Ira
Cain, 59, Darlington business man and veteran of WWI, died at his home at 10:40
p.m. Monday after an illness of 11 weeks. He conducted a service station here
for several years. Born at Spencer (Owen
County) he served in Co C, 78th Infantry during the first war and
belonged to the American Legion. He married Bessie McClain of New Market, Oct
15, 1938, and besides his widow is survived by two stepsons and two
stepdaughters Earl and David McClain and Mrs. Pauline Lyon, all of
Crawfordsville and Miss Jane McClain, Indianapolis with two brothers and three
sisters, Ross and Ott Cain, Dalrington, Mrs. Ella Ashley, Spencer and Mrs. Edna
Quisenberry and Mrs. Florence Vouher, near Mace. – kbz
