Darlington, Feb 7 – Cpl. Robert L. Cain, 20, recently listed as missing in action is now officially reported killed in action Jan 12, in Belgium, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Cain have been notified.  Cpl. Cain attended Darlington HS and later was employed here and in Lebanon, entering service March 15, 1943.  He was sent overseas last November, going first to England.  Cain was a member of the Home Guards and IOOF here.  Surviving are the parents: three sisters, Mrs. Florence Nobles, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif; Devonia Lee at home and Mrs. Raymond Krout, Darlington with a brother, Lewis, Indianapolis.  Another brother, Pvt. James P. Cain was drowned Aug 17, 1943 while in training with the Army Air Forces at Charleston SC.
