Ephraim Franklin Catterlin, 93, pioneer resident of Crawfordsville whose home was at 802 E Market Street, died Tuesday monring at 6 o'clock at Culver Hospital where he had been a one-day patient. Pneumonia and infirmities of age caused the death. Mr. Catterlin was born April 23, 1853 in Clinton County. He was the last survivor of a family of 7 children born to Jacob and Louise Catterlin. Mr. Catterlin's marriage to Elza B. Clark took place Sept 25, 1876. Mrs. Catterlin preceded him in death 19 years. Five sisters and one brother also preceded him in death. Two children survive, Walter C. Catterlin and Mrs. Morris C. Smith, both of Crawfordsville. In addition to the son and daughter, a grandson, Robert Morris Smith, survives together with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Catterlin was engaged in farmin in the early years of life. Moving to Crawfordsville many years ago, he engaged in the livery business for 3 years. He then entered the meat and grocery business which he conducted in Crawfordsville until he was 72 years of age. Friends may call at the hom eo fhis daughter, Mrs. Smith, 802 E. Market to pay their respects Wednesday afternoon or until noon Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted from the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home in charge of Rev. John R. Servies. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
