Greenberry Carver living two miles east of Crawfordsville died Tuesday morning at 4:40 o'clock of a protracted case of heart rouble which extended over a period of more than two years. Mr. Carver was 54 the son of John and Mary Carver. He was born near Crawfordsville and passed his entire life in this county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Carver; one daughter, Doris and one son, Paul who is now in Kansas. There are three brothers living Charles of Crawfordsville, John of Ladoga and Bert of Indianapolis and 2 sisters, Mrs. Sarah Daily of New Ross and Mrs. Anna McNulty of Alamo. The exact time the funeral is not decided but will probably be Thursday afternoon and will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of which the deceased was a member and a deacon by the pastor BE Antrobus and assisted by Dr. HH Elmore. Burial will be in Oak Hill. Mr. Carver was a man greatly beloved in the Church. He would often come to town on Saturday evening during his illness when unable to attend Church and sit in the car and invite people to the Sunday School and Church servies. ifamily attachments were tender. He maintained a strict but tender care over his children. A male quartet from the King David's class will sing the funeral services and the deacons of the Church will act as pall bearers. kbz

Greenberry Carver was born in Montgomery County, Indiana on August 9, 1874 the son of John and Mary Carver. He departed to be with the Lord July 3, 1928 at age 54. Brother Carver was converted to personal faith in Christ as his Savior in early life and some 15 years ago came with his wife into the fellowship of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville where he has remained an honored and faithful member. For a time he was president of the King David's Bible class giving up the position on account of failing health. For a number of years, he has served the Church as a deacon, being faithful consicientious tender and far seeing in his fellowship. On May 12, 1898, Brother Carver was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Vancleave to which union two children were born, Paul and Doris, who with their mother survive. He also leaves 3 brothers and two sisters, Charles of Crawfordsville, John of Ladoga Bert of Indianapolis and Mrs. Sarah Dailey of New Ross and Mrs. Emma McNulty of Alamo. Brother Carver was devoted .... the funeral service was held July 5 at First Baptist Church in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends. The pastor, BE Antrobus and Dr. HH Elmore a former pastor conducted the services. A choir of men from the King David's class sang. The pall bearers were deacons with whom he had labored in loving fellowship. It was a most beautiful and impressive service befitting the home going of such a man. The room seemed filled with a radiant cloud of Divine Presence. Among his last words to his pastor were, "Oh, yes, I am ready. I want to hear you pray again.
