North Salem, Sept. 19. – Mrs. Jesse Coons Carpenter, age 25 years, a former resident of Boone County, passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Coons, one and a half miles west of North Salem, this morning at 3:15 o’clock. She had been ill only since Monday of this week, the cause not having been determined by the specialist who was called from Indianapolis in consultation with Dr. Royer of North Salem

Mrs. Carpenter was born near Advance and she lived in this county until after her marriage when she went to North Salem to reside. When she became ill, she went to the home of her parents.
