Mrs. Anna Carpenter, who has been critically ill for several days, died on Thursday of last week. The body was taken to Florence, KY on Saturday where a short service was held at the cemetery by Rev. Mr. Carter, pastor of the Christian Church, after which it was laid to rest by the body of the late Samuel W. Carpenter. Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of Morgan and Sarah Campbell. She was born in Burlington, KY Jan 17, 1847. After her marriage to Samuel W. Carpetner in 1870 (note from typist 8 Jan 1871) they lived for a time in Florence, then in Hebron, Kentucky and Delhi, Ohio moving to this place 18 years ago. Mr. Carpenter died four years ago. There were 3 sons: Braxton W of this place; Douglas and Campbell of Niagra Falls, NY; two brothers, Milton and Braxtom Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio four grandchildren, 4 nieces and 4 nephews surviving. The late Mrs. H.I. Demaree was a sister. Mrs. Carpenter was of a sympathetic dispostion an d always ready to do something for others. She was especially active in the Red Cross work, and did more sewing than any other person in the community. - kbz
