Mrs. Elsie Carman, 63, Crawfordsville native, died Monday at 8:10 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Miss Kathryn Carman, 603 Tuttle Ave. She had been ill seven months. Born July 13, 1895, she was the daughter of Edwin and Lucy Britton Keesee. On April 25, 1912 she was married to Fred D. Carman in Imperial, Calif. Her husband preceded her in death in 1932. Mrs. Carman, a member of the First Christian Church, lived in Martinsville for 20 years, but returned to Crawfordsville in 1943. Survivors, in addition to Miss Carman, include two other daughters, Mrs. David Corbin and Mrs. Charles Curran, both of Crawfordsville; two sons, Fred E. Carman of Fowler and Mervin D. Carman of Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Ivan Kelsey of Crawfordsville; 14 grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Russell E. Brown Mortuary with Rev. Paul Million, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
