Darlington - Fred Carlson, 68, a farmer of the Bowers community the past 10 years died Friday night at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. He had been ill 3 weeks. Born March 18, 1884, at Paxton, Il, Mr. Carlson was the son of John S and Matilda Johnson Carlson. He married Ada b. Grove in Feb 1906. HIs wife died two years ago. He was a member of Paxton Lutheran Church. Surivving are foster son Mike Carlson, Glenwood, ill; a brother, Anton Carlson, Saybrook, Il, and 9 foster grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, Darlington; burial at Glen Cemetery, Paxton. - kbz
