Paul J. CANINE, 81, of 302 E. Jefferson Street died at 4:15 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been injured several weeks ago in a fall at the Ben Hur Building. He was a former employee of the Journal Review retiring in 1976. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Builders Class at the church. Mr. Canine was born in Montgomery County on August 8, 1905, to Ollie R. and Cinderella MILLER Canine. He was married at Darlington on Dec 30, 1931 to Ida Margaret WILLIAMS. She survives. Other survivors include two brothers, Ralph and Albert of Lafayette; and two sisters, Naomi Canine and Margaret Flowers of Lafayette. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Powers Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ostermeier officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery North. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today and from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday. - kbz
