Mrs. Charles A. CANINE who has been critically ill for several months died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert TAPP on Monday morning. A short service was held at the home on Wednesday afternoon followed by a service a t Freedom Church in charge of Rev. HH Elmore. Burial in Freedom cemetery. Mrs. Canine was the daughter of Asa and Catherine CARRINGTON and was born south of Russellville, Feb 26, 1860. She first married Frank WILLOUGHBY Jan 13, 1878. To them was born one daughter, Mrs. Tapp. After Mr. Willoughby's death she married Charles A. Canine Jan 11, 1926 who is also dead. Besides the daughter there is one grandchild, Mrs. Claude MAXWELL of Indianapolis and two great grandchildren. Mrs. America Wilson is a sister. A large part of her life was spent in Waveland. - kbz

Waveland, July 4 – Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ellen Canine, who died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert Tapp, six miles southeast of Ladoga were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Freedom Baptist Church near here. Rev. HH Elmore had charge of the rites, which burial in the Freedom Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas W. Rice, Emmett Perkins, Orphey Pebworth, Jesse Carrington, Robert Hicks and Asa Carrington. Flower bearers were Mrs. Jessie Monroe; Mrs. Mame Loman; Mrs. Albert Rice; Mrs. Thomas w. Rice; Mrs. Maggie Jeffries; Mrs. Claude Tucker; Mrs. hattie Radford; Mrs. Louise Clark; Mrs. Ella Hicks; Mrs. Pearl Miller and Mrs. Jesse Carrington. Mrs. HH Elmore and Mrs. Edith Rice sang City Four square and Mrs. Rice sang a solo, God’s Tomorrow. The pianist was Miss Juanita Watt (Wiatt?). - kbz
