Browns Valley -- Dr. Joseph Raymond CANINE, 81, of Browns Valley, a chiropractor for 42 years died this morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been ill four weeks. Dr. Canine attended the First Church of Christian Scientists at Crawfordsville, was a 50-year member of Waveland Masonic Lodge, was a member of Crawfordsville Elks Club and American Legion. He was a graduate of Washington School of Chiropractic and a veteran of WWI. He was born on November 3, 1892 in Montgomery County, a son of Lemuel J. and Lessie MILLIGAN Canine. He was married to Nellie GALEY at Washington, DC on April 9, 1921. She survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Maude) DELP of Browns Valley and Mrs. Howard (Nannie) MUNN of Crawfordsville. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Machledt Servies Funeral home at Waveland with Rev. Raymond Skelton officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic rites will be held in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
