Rockville, July 8 Arthur Canine, 23 year old Rockville resident was killed shortly afternoon Sunday in a traffic accident on a bridge over Little Raccoon Creek, 1/2 mile East of Greene Twp School in Parke County. Canine was riding on the running board of a automobile driven by Charles Jacks RFD 1 Judson according to Parke County Coroner BH Branson and either jumped, fell or was knocked to the highway when the Judson vehicle and milk truck being operated by David Sparks of Crawfordsville sideswiped in the narrow bridge. A basal skull fracture resulted in Canine's instant death. The coroner said the accident victim, his wife Josephine Jacks and a girl named Keller were returning to their home from a swim in the creek. Sparks, a driver for a Crawfordsville Dairy was accompanied by his wife. Surviving Carnine (sic) besides his widow are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Canine, Sr., of near Bellmore; two sisters, Lela Canine and Rosemary Canine at home; a brother James in the Army and his two grandparents, Mrs. Minnie Cash of Indianapolis and Mrs. Sarah Cox of Michigan City. State Police Officers, Max Webb and Bob Conley also investigated the accident. An inquest will be held Monday night. kbz
