New Ross, May 28—Mrs. Margaret Canada died at her home on North Main Street, Sunday morning of rheumatism, after an illness of four weeks. The deceased was born Dec. 17, 1843, near where she died. She married Cale Canada in 1866. They at once went to farm life and two girls were born to them. When informed that the end was near, she only longed for it and said she cared not for life.
She became an active member of Brown’s Chapel Church when eighteen years old and has been active in good work ever since. She was a prominent member of the Rathbone Sisters, being a charter member.
The funeral services occurred at Mount Zion Church under the auspices of the Rathbone Sisters and Knights, at 11 o’clock a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Johnson, of Frankfort, made a few remarks touching on the loss of friends but of her gain. She was interred in the church cemetery. She leaves a mother, two brothers, one sister, and a loving husband and two daughters to mourn her loss. -s
