James Campbell, a highly respected citizen who was born in this community seventy-six years ago and who had resided here all his life, died at 4 o'clock this morning at his home, 1407 Darlington avenue from heart trouble following an illness of considerable length. Mr. Campbell was born April 2, 1850, the son of James B. and Sarah Campbell. He married Dora J. Kennedy on August 24, 1876. He was a highly successful and influential farmer and his advice was frequently sought by his neighbors. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dora J. Campbell, one daughter, Mrs. Jesse S. Ward, one granddaughter, Doris Mae Ward, one sister, Mrs. Laura C. Pugh, and one brother, Newton Campbell, all of whom are residents of this city. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home and interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. - Kim H
