Caldwell - William Carson

William Carson Caldwell, 81 died at Culver Hospital Saturday July 25 at 6:30 p.m. He had been in failing health for the past week with a heart ailment. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Elks Lodge. He was an installation engineer with Fairbanks Morse from 1909-1928. He was born near Dover on Jan 10, 1872 the son of jeremiah c. and Rachel Bratton Caldwell. He married Melvina Payne in 1896. He was married Lida Y. Mount in 1933. Surviving are two sons, Leighton E. of LaGrange, Ill and Wayne P of Vallejo, Calif; two grandsons, one great grandson and one sister, Gertrude McClain of Advance. Last rites were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Donald McMahan officiated. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. - kbz
