Joe Caldwell, 56, former Ladoga area resident, died Thursday at Bremerton, Wash. He was a supervisor in the U.S. Navy Shipyard there. He was born June 8, 1919, south of Ladoga. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1937. Surviving is his mother, Hallie Caldwell of Linden; a brother, Raymond of Darlington and four sisters, Margaret Applegate of Lafayette, Nellie Warner of Plainfield, Dorothy Clampitt of Crawfordsville and Louise Powers of Ladoga. Services were conducted today at Bremerton as was a memorial service at Linden.--waw
