Mrs. Nancy Elinor Butcher, wife of Charles Butcher, died at their home, 310 west Market street, Thursday, July 19, 1917, at 11:30 a.m. Death was due to a complication of diseases from which she at times suffered intensely. She was confined to her bed for the past three years, bearing her affliction with a Christian fortitude. She was married to Charles Butcher June 30, 1875. No children blessed this union, though she raised her niece, who has preceded her to the great beyond. She leaves her husband, who has so faithfully taken care of her during all her sickness, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Richmond, together with nieces and a host of warm friends. She was born in Crawfordsville February 1, 1849, making her 68 years and 5 months, old at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at the home, 310 west Market street, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Mrs. Charles Butcher, about sixty-five years old, died at her home, west Market street, at 11;30 o'clock this morning, following an illness of six years with rheumatism. Mrs. Butcher is survived by her husband. Funeral services will be held from the late home on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with burial in Oak Hill cemetery.
