Mrs. Mary B. Burk, aged eighty six years, died last Friday at 7 o’clock at her home, 607 Liberty Street. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock. Interment was at the Hutton Cemetery. – s

Mrs. Mary B. Burk, relict of Oliver A. Burk, died at 7 o’clock Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jerome Wray, at the advanced age of 86 years. She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky, Aug. 11, 1814. She was married to Oliver A. Burk on May 24, 1832. She moved from Butler County, Ohio, to Crawfordsville in 1840 and has lived here ever since. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1858, and has for 42 years lived a devoted Christian life. She was a friend to everyone and loved by all who knew her. To know her was to love her. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She leaves a large family of children and friends to mourn her loss. Eight children survive her, five girls and three boys, twenty three grandchildren and thirty three great grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted at the residence of Jerome Wray, 705 Liberty Street, at 1:30 Sunday afternoon by Rev. T. D. Fyffe. Interment was at the Hutton Cemetery, northeast of the city.
