Mrs. Lola D. Byrd, 80, of 514 S. Walnut St., died suddenly at her home here at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Born Jan. 13, 1889, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Henry and Mont Davenport Wilson. She graduated from Roachdale High School in 1907. She was married in March of 1920 to Harry L. Byrd in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. Byrd was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Alice Ross Sunday School Class there. She was also a member of the Russellville Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Byron Cox Post 72, American Legion Auxiliary and the Crawfordsville Flower Lovers Club. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Nancy) Mitchell of Evansville and Mrs. James (Barbara) Craig of Akron, Ohio; a son, Bruce Byrd of Los Altos, Calif.; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Adele Cherry of Manilla, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Frank Little, officiating. Burial will be in the Russellville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home after 4. p.m. Thursday.
